Even die-hard sci-fi fans will say “been there, done that” from the very first scene of this terror in space film.

The medical space ship called “Nightingale” roams the universe in search of the needy. One day it gets a distress call and it has to make an interdimensional jump to get there. It emerges from the jump right into the gravitational pull of a dying star and things get rough. The captain (Robert Forster) is accidentally killed, they’re out of fuel and the star’s going to implode or is it explode?

The crew (James Spader, Angela Basset, Lou Diamond Phillips, Robin Tunney, Wilson Cruz) come across a shuttlecraft and inside is a mysterious survivor (Peter Facinelli). We come to discover very soon that the survivor is also the terror and one by one they have to take him on.

The only thing novel about this film is the imaginative way in which the director sneeked in the nudity, other than the casual sex scenes between Phillips and Tunney.

Lotta says
it’s watchable but it’s one of those films that doesn’t require a lot of brain power.
